I want to find out roughly how high a high voltage pylon is. The type specifically is one of the big ones with three outriggers on each side. Thanks

According to the National Grid website, pylons are around 50m high.

The usual range of heights is between 30m and 50m.
to find the height of a specific pylon.
stand on the same level as the pylon, use something to look at exactly 45 degrees. then move backwards or fowards untill the top of the pylon is in line with your line of sight. if you are on the same level as the base of the pylon and looking exactly 45 degrees then the distance from you to the pylon will be the same as its height.
Not quite.

Using the method described:

Height of pylon = distance from you to point at groundlevel directly below observed point plus distance of eye above groundlevel.
