No, poverty can never be eradicated in a capitalist society, except by definition and that defeats the object.
Poverty and wealth are subjective and relative to each other and in a capitalist society some will always have (earn?) more than others, those with the least will be poor and can be said to be living in poverty relative to those that have more.
