not sure if this is the correctplace for tyjis posting but any veiws on the following: 'can poverty ever be eradicated in a capitalist society?' any comments welcomed

You first need a definitionof poverty. Could be argued that all but self-inflicted poverty has been erased from capitalist societies, if your definition is some kind of absolute.If on the other hand you mean relative poverty, I would doubt that could be eliminated in any form of society.

No, poverty can never be eradicated in a capitalist society, except by definition and that defeats the object. Poverty and wealth are subjective and relative to each other and in a capitalist society some will always have (earn?) more than others, those with the least will be poor and can be said to be living in poverty relative to those that have more.

thanks for the low opinion MikeMikeMike, its not an essay, some imbecile was determined that the fundamental capitalist society was NOT based on class divides, i just wanted to prove a point. cheers all for your comments ;-)
