Phone charger = BANG???????????

I have just plugged my phone charger in and I was playing about with the end of it (thwe part that goes in the phone) and I was about to put it in my mouth when my friend shouted out to me to stop as I would electrocte myself! Really scared me btw! Lol anyways, I thinks he was tricking me but I am too scared to try incase I blow myself up, what would happen if iwere to put that part in my mouth, say on my tongue????
