Why do magazines come out with the date on the front more than a month in advance ? My wife was reading her new magazine yesterday with the date of November on the front ?
To persuade casual readers, as distinct from regular, that the magazine they have picked up is the latest, thus dissuading the casual reader from purchasing a competitor's older magazine.
Yes buildersmate is right. It gives them a longer shelf life.
Suppose a monthly magazine came out on the 15th of September with its September issue. It would only have two weeks shelf life before it was October and so be last month's issue and seem out of date.
I have to say though, some of these dates are plain stupid.
I subscribe to a monthly PC magazine and get it through the post. 2 weeks ago I got the November issue.
