unlocking a phone for 3 use

Please does any one know how I can use my 3G sim card in an old nokia phone I have. I have asked in a phone shop and they told me you cannot so this, but to go and buy another 3G phone, my old nokia is as good as new to use still. thanks

as the man in the shop told you,3g sim cards will not work in any phones other then 3g phones,do you think he said it for a laugh,sell your nokia phone on ebay and buy a new 3g phone,simple.

actually i did wonder if they were trying to get me to buy a new phone as salespersons do ! so i thought someone might know a way round it, obviously not. ill see what i do on e bay, good idea, thanks
