For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.When you lay the first row, it is highly unlikely that the planks will fit exactly and you will have to cut some from the last plank. You need to take into account that flooring is laid like bricks, meaning that the end of each plank runs down to the middle of the adjoining plank in the next row. This will also mean that it is highly likely that on rows 2,4,6,8,etc, you will have to cut the planks at both ends of the room, and in rows 1,3,5,7,etc, you will only have to cut the plank at one end.
