Car CD Players

I have just sold my car with a Sony 10xCD player situated in the boot. I'd like to have one installed in my new car, but not sure whether to go for a multi player again, or the single player kind situated withing your radio. Any suggestions please?

I had nothing but trouble with the boot multichanger in my old car. My new one is inbuilt , albeit a single loader. The multi one kept misloading and skipping and was basically more trouble than it was worth. IMHO

I must admit my old boot multichanger could sometimes get in the way of luggage & occasionally jumped when going over bumps in the road. Apart from that it was quite good. P.S. What does IMHO mean?

smudge, firstly, IMHO stands for In My Humble Opinion.

In my humble opinion, you can't beat a 10-stack changer in the boot. I've never had any problems with mine at all, but I did get an extremely good quality one.
The other option (presuming it's music storage amounts you're interested in) is to get a single CD stereo contained in the dash, as you said, but make sure it can play MP3s. That way you can fit several albums onto the one CD, which can be put into the main interface in the cockpit.

My last 10xCD mutiplayer was a Sony which was 'ok' & the one I had before that was a Kenwood 10xCD multiplayer, which was absolutely fantastic. Both were gifts from my ex-boss. I feel I may stick to a boot multichanger type, as I think it's safer than changing singles them as you go along. Cheers!

Forgive me if I am stating the obvious, but a "best of both worlds" solution is a dash mounted multi player. I have a 6 disc magazine in my dash. I am sure these are readily available.

How about getting urself one of those mp3 players...stick all ur stuff onto one get one of the tape car adapters and when u are travelling just link up the mini mp3 player .....good point is it is portable .....can be put in ur shirt pocket and taken into ur hotelroom/office/home and on hols....I use one and ususally hit the random button at the start and when i am not sure what i want to hear and when i hear something i like i disengage the random and listen

If you haven't got to the shop yet, can I suggest the Goodmans CD/MP3 car stereo? Got mine from Halfords for �90 & if you make your MP3 disc using a PC & CD writer, you can get 300 tracks on each disk!

I also used to have a multi-changer but I have now changed to a cd player that can read mp3/wma so i can hold approx 1 dozen albums on 1 disk !Alternatively,why not go for a hard disk mp3 player like the one made by 'dension' that has 20 gigs of space ie more than you'll ever need !?

No I didn't manage to venture out yesterday as I was laid up with a bug & the doc came out at 4:45am this morning! I'll probably feel better in a couple of days, I shall then venture out to the audio shops! Thank you all for your invaluable info.
