sound from pc speakers

There is no sound from the speakers connected to the computer nor is there any sound from the headphone socket, I have followed all the instructions under trouble shooting. What could I do next ?

At the bottom right hand side of your screen beside the time is a speaker icon. double click on it. You should then have a window on screen showing all the audio settings. Have any of the mute boxes been ticked? None should be. Hope this helps.
