Free texts using the internet

I believe if you register with some internet sites you are able to send free texts to mobiles. Does anyone know any sites, and are there any catches?

Yae I'm with vodafone(.ie) I live in the republic. But I'm sure you could avail of the 300 free txts we get a month- no catch. If you reg I think u might get ten euro free credit aswell. enjoy

It works well but you do get alot of spam msgs on your phone

if you use o2 pocket you can send 300 text msgs a month free by phone or pc its a bit fiddly but no catches.
