1. Connect iPod
2. Open iTunes and format your ipod so it is empty
3. Click start->My Computer-> and then double click whichever drive is your ipod.
4. Locate your music folder, mine is just in 'My Music' and with the right mouse button drag the folder to the ipod, release mouse button and select 'copy here'
5. With new laptop, connect iPod, open iPod in 'My computer' and drag the 'My Music' folder back to your PC using the same method as detailed.
Easy as. Took about 3 hours to transfer all my songs. Much easier than pricking about with network cables and WLAN's.
Hope this helps.

So lets see if I understood you, Sifellis -
You are emptying all the music from your Ipod on to the laptop hard drive.
Then the songs from the desktop are copied on to the Ipod.
Those tunes on the Ipod will be downloaded to the laptop.
After that's done, the Ipod will be empty and you would transfer back the Ipods' original music?
Is this what you mean for Michael to do? Forgive me if I misunderstood you. Thanks
