I have a Peugeot 106 (green) and i have recently found small spots of rust on the bonnet. Is it possible it could be bird poo that has done this and how can I get rid of the rust? I've heard you can sand it down and respray it, but how practical is this idea? Is this a job best left to the proffesionals? Also any rust prevention advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers guys
depends how long the crap was on yr bonnet. more likely a stone chip that has gone thru to bare metal and rusted. iv never had a problem like this when a bird 'left me a present'. and do yourself a favor - get it done by the pros! and if the bird does it again, dump her!!!
If the spots of rust aren't very big, you can firstly t cut them and then buy touch up pens from places like Halfords. Check under the bonnet for your cars' colour code to match the paint colour correctly. Make sure the paintwork is free of grease and dust and you should be able to cover most, if not all, of the stone chips.
P.S. As soon as a bird, or anything else, ***** on your car, clean it off with soap and water, which should prevent any acids in it dulling the paintwork.
