Float valves in Toilet Cisterns

Apart from being Side Entry or Bottom Entry are Float Valves all the same for any Cistern? Many Thanks for any replies.

And now, the Sensible Answer Section...

You shouldn't have any trouble fitting a float valve to any cistern. The only problem, (and one I had), is where you have an old and tall, narrow, cistern with a bottom entry. None of the float valves I could find were tall enough to allow the cistern to fill fully, and I had to revert to the old floating ball type.
