Have just bought a pair of boots but the zips are so hard to pull up or down.I seem to think there is something you can rub on the zips to make them easier, but can't remember what! Any ideas?

oh apparently its an ordinary pencil !
the graphite makes the zip easier
WD40 should do the trick ! If you google WD40 you can download some 200 uses for the stuff - the last page mentions zips.

I think candle wax might also help.
