I know there is a code you enter that displays the phones serial No. but is there a code you can enter to display the handsets own phone No.

What network is it on? On vodafone you can use *#100# to get your own number but this doesn't work on Orange (just tested it!)

It is your mates mobile number.

Ring it, cancel the call, and ask him or her the number of the missed call.

Cheers, its on 02, I tried *#100# but no luck, but thanx anyway it was worth a try......
for nokia there is no code best to do what panic button has said

I have checked sim card and holder and its not on either....
Ihave just recieved an email that says if the battery on your phone is really low, key in *3370# and the phone will restart with a 50% reserve power, this is supposed to work on all phones.....well it dont on mine !!!
sprayer are you using one of the newer o2 sims that give you free minutes or free texts.

No this one came with the phone bought in an o2 store just before xmas..... I know that I can get the number by dialing my home landline and checking missed calls but a friend who has a phone he bought in Tenerife (with a Spanish sim card) can get his phone to display its number on screen by entering a code, he is in Tenerife now so I cant ask what the code is...
on my sony ericsson i just press a button on the side and my number comes up on the screen with the memory used and what is available. for my nokia i use to phone another phone and get the number as a missed call. now i have a number that means something to me and is easy to remember. you can buy them cheap off ebay.
I've got a Nokia on vodaphone and *#100# works on mine!
