Insurance for Two Cars
3 Answers
Hi,
Can i get insurance for 2 vehicles? I have my own car and my partner has a car. My partner will be getting a company car soon so she will be giving me her car therefore I will be selling my own car. In the mean time I would still need to be insured for the car I am selling and for the car my partners given me.
I am currently insured by the Post Office and they said it's not possible for me to be insured for another vehicle.
Please can someone advise.
TIA

We rang them up and they gave us a one month overlap where she could be insured on the old car for one more month (to enalbe her to sell it) and also the new one at the same time.
I would phone the post office again and this time dont say you want to be insured with 2 cars, just tell them you have a new car and want to sell the old car and see if they will do temporary cover till you sell the old one.
If they wont I would find another insurer.

I agree with veryhelpful - this is not an uncommon situation. I'm with Direct Line and when I inherited my new car I contacted them and explained that I was going to be getting rid of the old one but not for a week or so (I was giving it to a mate) .... no problem - I had an overlap period of insurance.
