Yes - my parents split three times when I was a child and they were the best of friends. I am not sure if that was for show or not but their philosophy was no matter what goes on between thwm it should never affect the children or the way you are in front of them.
Everything is OK until it comes to money then it all falls apart. It CAN be done if both parties are happy to separate and the money issues are sorted, I guess.
I think you have to be careful not to let solicitor's persuade either of you into making unreasonable demands on money or refusing a reasonable demand. Remember the more conflict between you two the more money they make so it's best to agree as much as far as that goes before you get them involved.
Before someone else says it... I know there shouldn't be an apostrophe in solicitors. Why do these mistakes only appear AFTER you've clicked the submit button?
Don't let the children be used as pawns,it turns the situation into a nightmare.
Sorry to hear that things have to change this way. The easiest and least painful way to get through this is to avoid getting into the issues that have caused you to split in the first place. If you can both agree to make this situation as easy as you can, and on no account get into rows about who did what to whom, then you can get through this. The only other issue, as mentioned, is the one of money, the last great sticking point. Try and keep calm, and remember, it is sometimes better to walk away with less money and your sanity, than the other way around. Best of luck.
