I see you can buy a Magic Eye for Sky, does it work on Freeview boxes? Don't really know much about them. My freeview box for my portable tv in bedroom does not want to play ball. Only thing I can do is to run a 2nd mains ariel lead into the bedroom. Just wondered if these magic eyes work on freeview.

I dont think so as I believe that the Freeview box doesnt have the same type of aerial feed that a Sky box has.

I would be interested to knwo though as this would be useful for my mum.

Does the bedroom freeview box work properly on your other tv? It could be a faulty box.

As far as I know, magic eye does not work with freeview.
The 'magic eye' or 'link' only relays the infra-red remote control (RC) signal back to the sky box in another room. This allows you to change chanel when watching on another tv set. If you have the tv on in both rooms you get the same chanel on both of them. You still need a cable from the skybox to the 2nd tv to deliver the signal & the link to relay RC commands back to the 'mother' box.
For freeview you need a signal feed for each decoder box. This can come from an ariel or dish. you could use a wireless sender to link 2 tvs to 1 decoder box.
The TV eye uses the 12 volt feed form the RF2 output on the back of the sky box but it wont work on freeview....
