Had a new gas meter installed the other day in my house. The reading seems a lot higher than my old meter, has any body else had issues with high readings from new gas meters ?

Yes, our new meter was showing a somewhat higher reading when installed.

I mentioned it to the engineer.

You have to take the old reading off the old meter upto the exact date of installation, then ring that through to your suplier, then take the new reading on the new meter, and the date it was installed.

Check your bill closely, as the reading will be listed if read by you or a meter reader, or there will be an estimated reading amount if not.

If in doub't always ring your supplier, and always take readings and write things down.
