My television is making a strange noise every now and then, crackles no picture, but then comes back ok,if it is on the way out is it worth it getting it fixed or get a new one, not got alot of dosh for a new one so maybe its worth getting it sorted or looked at any abers had this problem!

Have you checked your connections are pushed in properly? I was having similar problems and it turned out to be a dodgy scart.

Hi,
If your tv is an older CRT tube type the crackling noise suggests an intermittent problem with the HT (high voltage) side of the circuits inside.
You will need to get this sorted professionally so give your local tv repair shop a ring, look in the Yellow pages or Thompson local. They may suggest what's best to do as a repair may not be cost effective.
