Into what? cup? teapot? trashcan? the whole point about a teabag is thath you don't have to cope with the loose leaves
You're not even serious asking that are you?
They go in whole. They really had better go in whole, because if you cut them up, tea drinkers will laugh at you. A lot. (Voice of experience...)
Teabags were invented by tea producers as a means to sell the dust left over from the manufacturing process. This dust would previously have been discarded as unusable so what do you think?
Always makes a delish cup of tea as far as I'm concerned.
Are you bored today then?
The actual truth here may suprise you here but YES. Tea bags were invented by a traveling salesman as a means to measure out samples of his tea. The people he gave these samples to mistook them for a new way of brewing the tea and just poured hot water on them! this caught on as you didnt have to strain the tea before serving. Modern tea bags are not supposed to be cut up but the truth of the invention often suprises people.
i think you are a very silly person to write such a silly thing. this web site is for importent things not stupid questions
It's a matter of persoanl preference. Most people put them in whole, but some prefer to tear them open.
I once heard of someone putting teabags (in ignorance) into an electric kettle instead of into the teapot! We shouldn't criticise Crolios for posting this question; we don't know who he or she is, how old he or she is and why he or she asked the question. This might be a young person showing some initiative in coming to Answerbank. Calling him or her silly will not encourage further use of this site.
Besides, who said this website was for important questions and not silly questions? Isn't it good to be diverse? Don't be so po-faced.

I meant for when they go in the compost bin.
Then why didn't you say so?!!!
There is absolutely great crack in this site. ROFL. I mean you can almost hear your voices sometimes - Cheesefreek's really rose to heights of incredulity there! And I don't blame him/her.There again I suppose I've learned a lot about teabags.
