vista upgrade

we have vista "home basic" is it worth getting the upgrade package? Would like a decent version of Excel & Powerpoint - for kids homework - and also to load up photoshop

Excel and PowerPoint are part of the Microsodt Office Suite. Upgrading Vista won't include them. If you really need Office buy the Home and Student version.

Otherwise just get Open Office. It is free and although it isn't as powerful as Microsoft Office it can work with the same files. Most people don't need all of the MS Office features anyway.

As far as I am aware Photoshp will run on Vista Home Basic but this is nothing to do with Microsoft. You have to buy it separately.
