Does a flatscreen tv with built in freeview need an aerial cable or can it be tuned in without one?

Freeview will always require an aerial.

Depending how far you are away from the transmitter you MAY get away with an indoor aerial, although for best reception you need a modern rooftop aerial.

The Freeview signals are kept low at the moment so they dont interfere with the analogue signals, but as analogue is gradually turned off the freeview signal strength will be increased.
