How to report abusive comments

Without someone giving me abuse for being stupid,how do you report someone or get them banned.from AB..just interested. Thanks

either use the report this question option or email the ed using the contact us link down there ↓

Click on the "Report this question" option. Unfortunately, the option to "Report this post" if you get abuse within your own thread has been removed. In cases like that you should contact the Ed.

I had a quick look at the Ed's Blog but couldn't see an answer. Without again sounding like a Bimbo I can't see a report this question option? Thankyou both anyway. There's someone on here who is downright nasty but naming no names I don't need the grief!

I wasn't suggesting there was an answer in the Ed's Blog. I was merely saying that Ed is aware of whats going on and that you can contact them through email.

Chuck i think youll find you need to be a member a certain length of time and post an amount of questions / answers before youre able to report a question.
Greenies cannot report.

Thats how the ed and users know if its malicious reporting by groups rather than general reporting , that gets users banned.

There is no point really, even if they get banned, they always can come back on with a new ID and start their bullying rubbish again.

The only option, is to perhaps change your own ID, so the bullies don;t know it's you.

If its someone replying to your question then you can't report it. You must contact the AB Team to do it for you.

If someone has posted a question then you can report it by clicking on the "Report this Question" tab directly under the original question.

oh i knew greenies couldn't report but I didn't know there was also a set limit on number of posts made until you could report questions!

As Tigger has stated, if it is your own question you will not be able to report it.

Cant say exactly how many etc chuck .
Like i was saying a sleeping username with no posts may be grey , but it cant be used to report maliciously.Thats a common misconception.usually posted by folk trying to stir up trouble.

barb, just email Ed to get a paticular answer Removed. I did that and within a day or two, they emailed me saying that they have removed that users 'offensive' answer :)

Hi guys,well thanks so much for all your answers.I joined in Oct 2005,have asked about 40 questions and answered over 300 so not sure why I can't report but not to worry. Life's too short to think about it I guess. No one has upset me I just don't like the way some people are treated...too soft!

This is truly fascinating. I've been frequenting here since last year but only joined two weeks ago (today is exactly two weeks) and I do have the "Report this question" option. Interestingly enough, I've posted only one question that someone cloned me and it was banned.

fagidill,why do you need to know my age? I'm just trying to be a nice person. I haven't reported anyone. I just was interested in knowing how to do it. Some people seem to join this site with no intention of helping others or asking information,just abusing existing AB members...that's all. Sorry if I irritated you. Oh by the way I'm almost 40.
