This is a bit of a 'depends' question. If your fridge and freezer have seperate ccoling circuits, the fridge will still work (as I'm assuming its the freezer you've knackered). If this is the case, switch off the freezer bit and the fridge should still work. However, nowadays most fridge freezers have common circuits and pump, so the fluid/gas could be being pumped out of the whole thing. You will soon know, as the fridge will start warming up and can even turn into an oven effect! If in doubt (and probably the best course of action anyway) switch the whole lot off and keep you perishables somewhere cool (garage?, shed?).
