I have a Baxi Combi Instant 105e with an integral timer and no idea how to set it so it comes on for a few hours each morning! Any pointers would be gratefully received.

Firstly there will be a dial with numbers around the outside representing normal time - there will also be an 'arrow' or other indicator outside this dial, to which you turn the numbered dial to show the actual time. This numbered dial will also have little 'teeth' which you can 'press in' and 'pull out' - make sure they're all 'pulled out' to begin with and then press in those that are between your desired start and finish times, eg. 5 & 7 - represented by about 8 teeth, each one being 15 minutes. Finally there will be another small switch to the right(?) of the dial with 3 settings - Off, on constantly, or timed - indicated by a little picture of a clock. Select this setting and you're good to go! Hope all that made sense...
further to mcnoodles answer, on some mechanical timers you put the little pegs in to set the on times, and on other you put them out to set the on time, it may say on your timer, or on a little drop dow flap which way you have to set the pegs, or it shoud say on your instruction book.
if you have no book go to baxi's website and email them and ask them for a copy of the manual for your boiler and clock, they are always very useful anyway if you call out a heating engineer for any repairs.
