If so it uses a Fujifilm NP60 battery
A typical camera battery these days is a lithium ion type and will charge fully in 2-3 hours. Some batteries are professional heavy duty type and therefore take longer to charge.
Li-on batteries give an indication in the camera viewfinder how much charge they have when in use. Does this battery give any indication it is almost full or nearly empty, do you get a useful amount of camera use before the battery runs out. Using a colour flip out screen will drain the battery quicker than using the viewfinder (if it has one ).
All batteries including rechargeables need replacing sometime if this is an old faithful it may be beyond it's useful life it all depends on how many charge / discharge cycles it has been through.
Maplins do a range of replacement batteries for most camcorders as well as camera shops such as Jessops
