My centrex player will not play cds anymore, it plays dvd mp3 jpeg discs fine any ideas?

Sounds as if the 4 pin audio cable from the DVD drive to the sound card (or motherboard) has become disconnected. It's a thin cable with a small (usually white or black) rectangular block at each end. It's required to provide an analogue audio output from the drive when playing regular CDs. Playing DVD, JPEG or MP3 media uses the ribbon interface as it's digital.
