I would like to import an american bus into the uk does anyone know if there is too much paper work inolved or is everything sraightfoward what is the proceudure or custom law ???

My son has imported two cars to the UK, one from Saudi where he was working and one from the USA ( a Mustang Cobra.) based on the problems he has had, I wouldn't import a car from anywhere...there are more pitfalls for the unwary. Its not just a case of sticking it in a metal box and shipping...theres Customs .. Import duty, VAT...( yes Tonys crooks want a bit for nothing..) theres the SVA etc... look at "QRZ.COM" type in my Ham call "G0IAS" ( thats a ZERO and not an "O" and you'll find my email ad. send me mail and I'll give you ALL the sordid details...!
