Has the boiler thermostat accidentally been set too high? This could cause the upper temperature sensor to operate, and on some boilers this needs to be reset manually before the burner can ignite again. Has the boiler gone it to lock-out, this can be indicated by a red warning light somewhere on the boiler control panel. It could also be a dirty or faulty optical coupler on the burner itself, this normally senses the flame from the burner for safety reasons, but if dirty or faulty can cause the boiler to stop working. Suggest you call your boiler servicing guy - you do have it regularly serviced don't you ???
