unblocking mobiles

I have left 3mobile.................al last !! I wish to unlock my phone to use it with my new contractors.....however 3 require payment CHEEK !! Any ideas of good websites etc which can do it for free or the bare minimum (am on a low income).....Thanking you in advance :)

I believe that 3 phones are difficult to unlock and some can't be done unless you pay 3 to do it.

I'm sure someone will be along with the correct info if I am wrong.

Have you tried googling 'unlock 3 phone' just in case?

Often our local street market has a stall of mobile phones, and he displays a sign that he can unlock phones.

Your local market might have a similar.

Alternatively, pay what 3 want.

Um have no intentions of paying them �35 (which I havent got)................after all the years I was with them as a customer they should do it free of charge, also they wanted paying over the phone.....they are based in India and have you not heard of all the credit card scams and selling of personal information being started from there ??

just put unlock phone in google loads of sites. It cost me �1.00

Have already paid �3.99 to a site and just recived an email explaining what you could do to unlock a phone............no code...........which site can you trust ?? not giving card details to anyone willy-nilly...........

eddengenes that is an old model no problem to unlock but you can not unlock by code , you need a clip
any phone shop or on a car boot should do it for �10 or less are you in manchester/ tameside/wirral area ?

simple way to expain

all old phones could be unlocked by putting in a code number

new ones need to be conected to a clip to unlock

some new ones need to be done by the network and a clip


i asked where you lived because tranmere kid was on line and he does phones for a lot of us

He has now gone to work

i would have told you the cheapest place to get it done

Most markets have a stall that'll unlock any phone for around �10...

they have to connect to nokia to get it unlocked and nokia charge the shop/stall more than that ?

No idea DrFilth... but a work colleague took his new N85 down the market and got it unlocked... for a tenner...

when the N95 started to be unlocked it cost �40-�50
as soon as the shop/stall connected to nokia . nokia charge them �25
they had to pay for the gear and running costs of the shop/stall and make a profit.
as the N95 has got older the price has gone down , you should be able to get it unlocked for about �15

my friend has been in the shop when the unlock has gone wrong and then the phone has to be re-flashed (this can happen a lot)
if you buy one of these unlockers off ebay and it goes wrong . your warranty is f******

he has some clips and he has had to take the phones in to be re-flashed
