yesterday & fitted new pump on CH system. The valve thingy that expels air-locks automatically is leaking now. The valve has a polythene nipple. Is there a special tool to tighten it & stop the drip?

It'll take a day or two to settle at the correct pressure etc. Had exactly the same here after our copper cylinder was changed recently.
I'd suggest wrapping a towel around the pipe under the valve and letting it be for a few days, call him if it's still doing this in a week. DON'T try tighten it!

sounds like youve got a combi boiler ...the little plastic nipple on the top is like a dust cap on a car tyre....it shouldnt alow water out only air once system is filled and settled you can turn it clockwise till shut down to prevent leaking ...although idealy the a.a.v automatic air vent needs replacing...i would sugest waiting till next service.
