I've bought some new sandals with a slight wedge heel but the soles are very slippy - frightened of going a*** over t*t in them! Has anyone tried those stick-on soles that you can buy from Timpsons, etc. and are they any good?

They're excellent. My wife has the same problem - she likes to wear Western boots but always has to have the stick-on soles added before she wears them, since they're really slippy otherwise.
Yes, I use these on new shoes that don't have a good tread as I dare not fall over.
I used to do the cheap option, wire brush the soles until the shine goes but then again when I was drunk it didn't matter as I always used to fall over....
I occassionally used to use rough sandpaper on the bottom of the shoe to remove the shine and rough it up a touch. Worked fine.
By the way it's **** over tip.
