0.9 hours is 9/10 of an hour which is 54 mins. 76 hrs is 76*60 which is 4560 mins.

76.9hrs is therefore 4560 mins + 54 mins

=4614 mins.
12h 22mins.
^ huh??
76.9 hours is 12 hours 22 minutes.

That seems obvious does it not?

The other 64 hours and 32 minutes just gets lost in the space/time continuim.
In answer to your question 76 hrs 54 mins.
One hour is 60 minutes, so a tenth of an hour must be 6 minutes. Therefore 0.9 of an hour must be 9 x 6 = 54.
Could that point 9 maybe represent 9 minutes - not written correctly but somebody could have written it to be 76 hours + 9 minuets.

Depends upon where tezmand has seen it written.
76.9 inhours & mins. 'in' being the operative word.

guys this is my holiday entitlement for the year we have to take it in hours and minutes i only work part time , i know the 76 is hours but i not sure what the 9 is but i do know its not 9 minutes, my working week is 9 hrs 36 mins ( we went to european times so i get paid for 10 hrs but only work 9.36) that 54 minutes cud be rite
You have holiday entitlement that is calculated down to minutes?

Gosh!
It sounds as if it is right - we used to use some weird calculation to calculate our annual leave entitlement.

76 hours and 0.9 of an hour = 54 minutes.
76.9 is a decimal i.e. 76 and 9 tenths of an hour.
One tenth is 6 minutes, so nine tenths is 54 minutes.

thankyou very much guys for answering so quickly at least now i know how much hoilday i can plan cheers
1 hour = 60 minutes
0.9 hours = 0.9 times 60 = 54 minutes
Hey, wolf63. It would depend on how long it takes you to dance a minuet :-)
I don't understand tamborine's answer.
Question Author
i didnt understand tamborines answer neither at first i thought i had spelt minute wrong or something ?
Wolf63 spelt 'minute' incorrectly - obviously not a spelling mistake, but a typographical one.
I see that tamborine came back with
"76.9 inhours & mins. 'in' being the operative word."
which doesn't help me understand where 12h 22 mins comes from at all. Perhaps he is suggesting that, since you didn't state what units 76.9 was in, it could mean almost anything in hours and minutes. But why choose 12h 22mins?
Tamborine, please explain.
