How do I find out where someone is buried abroad?

A friend of mine died some years ago (2002) and was buried in Paphos, Cyprus. His name was Nick (possibly originally 'Nikos') and unfortunately, I don't know how to spell his surname correctly. It was pronounced Kannellides, but that spelling could be incorrect.

He was born in Cyprus but lived and died in Harrow, Middlesex, UK. His birthdate was 11.05.80. His funeral was at a church in Shepherd's Bush, but he was buried in Cyprus.

I don't know where his family are now and have no mutual friends who would know which cemetary he was buried in. Does anyone know how I can find out where he was buried? All I know is that he was buried in his birthtown of Paphos, Cyprus.

I have no idea how you find the information out, but try the link above and email one of the contacts (the Municipality here is just like a local council in the UK).

Someone will be able to point you in right direction at least, I'm sure. Especially if her was buried as recently as 2002.

Also try http://cyprus.angloinfo.com/forum/ and post a subject on it, as you would be very surprised what people on that site know about, and there are some very helpful users.

Having reread that it is clear you have waited longer for an answer. I really hope you read this quick or that we get on at the same time. I am trying to think of something that you would recognise so I know who I think you are and not who I hope you're not.
