My standard digibox is broken and sky want twice as much for a Sky plus box then a HD one!. I dont have HD TV so my question is. Apart from Ebay where can I get a sky plus box and remote and is it a case of just replacing it like for like and putting in my sky card. Need to see Andy Murray win wimbledon

eBay or I've seen them in second hand shops, either way is much quicker than waiting for Sky to pull their finger out and get you a new one.

And yeah, you just plug it in, connect it up, viewing card in and away you go!

Email the Sky CEO, [email protected] and tell him how unhappy you are (politely!) about your broken Sky+ box.. Be sure to include plenty of ways for them to contact you - phone, mobile, email. You will get a call/reply from the "Executive Escalations dept". Ask them, nicely, for a new Sky+ box and they will almost certainly give you one.
The key to success via this method is to be polite and sensible about what you want from them.

I record a lot of stuff from sky to the HD box harddrive & of course not all of it is in HD,so buy the HD box from Sky for �49 & use it as a Sky+ box then when you can afford HD ready T/V you'll only have to connect from the HD box with HDMi cable to get the HD channels

Hi Fish the Mod, if you have just a normal Sky box it will have just 1 lead coming from the dish to use
Sky plus you will need to have a Quad LNB on the dish and not the single type that comes with most normal Sky boxes. If you have one of them it's just a case of running extra cable from that to your new Sky plus box.

Phone Sky and threaten to cancel your contract- it's amazing what offers they suddenly have when you do so!
I get at least 3 1/2-price months per year, just by threatening to cancel.
(Don't feel guilty about it- their prices are extortionate so you might as well play them at their own game (extrotion))
