shower handle

My shower has stopped letting in the hot water, cold comes through fine, the handle turns left for warm/hot and does not turn properly, ' what is stopping the water from coming through? does it need renewing? Do I need a new shower unit or can the handle be repaired, and will it be an expensive job if I get a plumber to look at it? thanks

Check that the Knob's thread has not stripped or the internal screw is tight.
