When we answer a question or query there is a small box that requires a mark if
"I want to subscribe to this thread ".
Could you please explain what this actually means I think I might be missing a couple of cell in the grey matter .

It enables you to keep track of threads that interest you, or which you are continuing to debate on, after they have dropped off the bottom of the current page.
Not sure if it's working - it doesn't function on my acount, but the Ed assures me that when the new format is rolled out, it will start up again, so if you can;t subscribe right now, it will be operating shortly when the new AB system kicks in.
