My fridge, about 2 years old is leaking water from the bottom of it. I've checked the drainage hole inside and nothing is blocked. What is the problem and is it going to be expensive>
same thing happened to me at the weekend, then it turns out my husband had turned it down cos there was ice forming at the back that i hadnt noticed. its fine now. K
the collection box at the rear bottom should not be overflowing ,the pipe that is in situate contains hot gases that will evaporate the water thats collected
as musicmummy says check your setting in the fridge, it should be no lower than number 4,5 is better
The Drainage Hole runs from inside the Fridge to the Tray on the Outside. Push a Straw through the Hole and see if it protrudes, if it does not you have a blockage. Fairly Hot water down Plug Hole should clear it but if not, empty Fridge and disconnect from Electricity Supply and 'Defrost'.
Thanks all, especially york and redman. Just found the pipe, that I didn't know existed, pushed a cotton bud up it and out came some black gunge. I heard dripping water and saw drops coming out. I hope this has fixed it.
Yes I think you have found the problem chrissa1. If you check drainage hole once a Year you should not have any future problems.
You can now start cooling down the Wine and Beer on bottom Shelf once again. !!!!!
