diplomat's vehicle

I'veposted this Q. in another section but could not get a satisfactory answer.-Could someone please tell me if the ground underneath a diplomats car is considered foreign soil of the diplomat's native country.- I heard this from a respected figure in current affairs but have heard many contradictory allegations.

It seems unlikely. What has immunity is the diplomat's person. And the embassy ground, which has to be agreed with the host nation.

 

I cannot fathom what use the ground under a car would be. Are you thinking of diplomat's car not paying parking fines?

I can only hazard a guess, but while agreeing with Pinotage, I can`t imagine that the ground under a diplomat`s vehicle could be anything other than belonging to the host country.

What is the reasoning behind the question?

It made some pretty heavy reading though. Especially "3.    The diplomatic bag shall not be opened or detained. " which made me chuckle. Coming out of the rather nasty passport control in the republic of congo i saw some guy getting very very heavy treatment with his bag, they were pulling all kinds of stuff out of it and being very rude. Man, you should have seen their faces when he whipped out their diplomatic passport: faces of death. Almost as apologetic when I skipped a body search "where is all your money, sir?" "It's with the diplomat, we're together", I replied. LOL. Fun times.
