Hi I dont know if this is the right bit for this but does anyone know how you would dye a pair of jeans from dark blue to a sort of light stonewashed colour? thanks

For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.Whatever you do, don't put them in a bucket! I did this years ago, not realising I would end up with a weird tye-dye effect. Thought they were great, to be honest, but it wasn't what I'd intended.
Lay them out in the bath, making sure they're not creased anywhere, and soak them in a diluted mix of bleach - I think you'd better check the bottle to see how much to use. If you use too much they'll go a bit holey. Too little wouldn't be so bad, cos at least you could do it again. good luck!
you cant actually dye something a paler shade of the same colour, as the previous answer says, you need to bleach out some of the colour you already have. Essentially you are making the jeans fade as they would naturally do, but much faster. A dilte bleach solution and trial and error until you reach the shade you want would be my advice, and remember to rince the bleach out well afterwards!
