what tapes do i need

i have an older style camcorder which i bought 3 years ago which i have never used and i need to know what tapes go in this the manual cover says:

JVC COMPACT VHS CAMCORDER

GR-SXM49 GR-FXM39 GR-SX25 GR-FX15 THX IN ADVANCE I ALSO BOUGHT THE NEW CAMCORDER THIS WEEKEND WHICH USES A SMALL DVD HAS ANY1 ELSE GOT 1 OF THESE AND ARE THEY ANY GOOD

"COMPACT VHS" - you've answered your own question there., although they are more commonly known as VHS-C in shops.

DVD - camcorders are OK, but the small DVD's are stupidly overpriced for what they are, for no real quality benefit IMHO.

vhs-c tapes are getting harder to find as 8mm were rated more highly.Advantage of vhs-c is you can buy an adaptor cassette (same size as a normal VHS tape) into which you insert the vhs-c tapes for instant playback on any vcr.
