windows media player backup

using windows vista, how do i backup my WMP music to an external hard-drive? i've tried this way (start>computer>music>send to) but when i click on music, only some of my music files are displayed. it lists about 50 songs and i have over 2000 in my WMP file. anybody???

Plug in your external drive . Go to the file where they are stored open it select all then edit from the menu then move to folder , navigate to your external drive in the box. Then OK
