Probably better off in Q & P - or did the "spirits" move the 30d q?!

How it works?
16d CANDLES
16D Lucifer
30d spirits
Candles is correct for 16d (maybe Coobeastie meant 27d for Lucifer).
Candles have wicks- they are wicked (pronounced WICKT not WICK-ED)
No I thought it might actually be Lucifer (wick-ed), a type of match that had a habit of self igniting (a thing that burns). Thought candle might be a bit too obvious for a £500 prize.

27D refers to a Worcestershire town on the river Stour. Prehaps Romsley?
