i have a washer drier hotpoint aquairus wd420 model, the fan belt has come off and we have tried everything and it wont stretch difficult as back is a sealed piece and limited space to work in, can only take bottom panel off where cog is and very small gap where big wheel drum thing is (sorry dont know technical term !!!!) the belt seems to be about 2 inches to short
other halfs hands are cut to ribbons trying to stretch it over
tried soaking it tieing the belt onto large wheel thing stretching shouting at it even lol
nothing seems to work
it seems a repairman will have to be called unless anyone can help
thanks

usualy the motor is on a slide bar , when you loosen the nuts that hold it you can move it to place the belt on then using something to lever it to tighten the belt and tighten the nuts there ..

Yes you are quit right there is Never enough room to do this easily.
i tend to lean it against something and work from bottom .
having said that i only ever replaced my own washing machine belts , so you may get better suggestion.
Normally you would attach the belt to the smaller pulley first, and then rotate the drum (larger) wheel... coaxing the belt acrooss it as you rotate it..
Not sure about this model, but the adjustment for the belt is normally done at the motor mounting bracket.
Make sure the electric is disconnected.
You need to loosen the motor bolts and slide it along to get the belt on and then pull the motor back then tighten the bolts again.

it doesnt come off i can assure you only a tiny panel at the bottom
As S-C suggests, I think you will have to disconnect water supply and lie the Machine on its side and approach the problem from the underside of the washer/drier.
There should be ample access from the underside in order to replace belt.
