I had a lock (£14.99) fitted into door (£30 labor) & NO key? It can be opened/locked with a screwdriver. I returned to B&Q for the key & they say it doesn't come with key but for £3 I can buy they key !

If you can open and lock it with a screwdriver then I think B&Q have lost the plot.
Local Burglars must be rubbing their hands with glee. Put a notice on the Door 'Open House' ! duh !

thanx redman....it has a keyhole; it's fitted into the door, not like a Yale that fits onto the door.

I cant hang a screwdriver on my key-fob ! I told them I would whinge on here & they just smirked.

Shall I drive my car thru their windows :)
If it's the Front or Back Door of your House tambo I would change the lock completely even though it would involve more expense. It's too high a risk if you can open door with screwdriver..
Question Author
oh no - not another lock & more exes.
think I'd be changing the person that fitted it as well as the lock!
lol tamborine ! Yes it happens to us all me included as I had to change my locks as well to keep the enemy out... :-)
Question Author
surely every lock with a keyhole has a key ?
Of course tambo, that's why B&Q should not be selling locks without the relevant keys to go with it.....
Question Author
they have the key for an extra £2.99 ! that's how its sold apparently.....daft or wot ?
It's a crap Lock tambo if you can open it with screwdriver. You need something more secure than that. Take it back to B&Q
Is this some sort of wind up?

Sound's like a bathroom lock

Only £30 for fitting! That's half or third of usual prices.
Pity t'idiot didn't know what 'e was doing.
BS3621:2004 or 2007 is required for main entrance doors.
Is this one of those security locks that fit top and bottom of the door and you insert a grooved key into the hole, on the inside only, and wind a round bar out into the jam?

If so, then I believe they do come without keys as you only need one key for however many locks you fit.
This is the type of lock I am referring to.

If you read the description it states the key is separate. You were ripped off by B&Q at £14.99.

Just out of curiousity and to get things straight here - are you talking about an interior door or and exterior door?
