I have Sky but would have thought BBC Ceefax would be the same. You can now just enter the number page and press enter rather than having to navigate through dozens of pages. The numbers for the football pages are the same as the old ones, so I guess travel would be aswell. Sorry if this doesn't work for freeview.
i think that flight arrivals are just on terestural (not sure how you spell it sorry!!) tv not digital.  perhaps as your on the net you could find flight arrivals on here.
Try these two sites, for the BAA's [there is usually one site per airport] you can search for all arrivals, for BA's you can search all BA flights worldwide.  http://www.baa.co.uk/main/airports/gatwick/flight_arriva ls_frame.html

For other airports in the BAA group, try this link  http://www.baa.com/main/general/baa/flight_timetable_frame.html

Quite right, it's not carried on Digital text. You'll have to switch to your regular analogue channels.
Can you not still get teletext by watching your TV through the tuner (ie. putting the TV on channel 1, not the freeview box) and using teletext from there? Unless the freeview receiver is built into the TV itself, or the aerial has been unplugged you should be able to do this.
