I have an electric convector heater which trips out the electricity everytime I plug it in. Does anyone know what could be causing this? Its similar to this one at Argos,

if you mean the circuit breaker trips out, there's some thing wrong with it, if it less than one year old take it back to the store you got it from if you still have the receipt.or you could get it checked out by a friend who knows about these things
Probably the heating element broken inside and touching earth. Or a power switch short.
Take apart for a look!
Or... the circuit protector (breaker or fuse) isn't sufficient to handle the additional, fairly high load from your appliance. If there are several other devices plugged into or turned on supplied by that circuit, it could be a simple matter of overload.

Use caution, but you could plug it into another outlet to see if you get the same results...
