The remote site that we use to generate our avatars - has anyone else had trouble with *their* cache?
I uploaded a temporary avatar then tried to change it back and it wouldn't clear in Gravatar for ages.
I cleared *my* cache, erased ALL of the avatars then re-uploaded a couple but that still didn't make any difference.
Maybe we have to assume that by "5 or 10 minutes" they actually mean up to an hour or more.

The first one is on gravatar itself, they have core servers where all your information is stored and edge servers which are the fast ones that the information is actually used from and the edge servers cache your avatar for upto 20min (I think that's what it said when I actually was bothered to read their FAQ)
You then have the cache on your computer, you can clear this cache but until the cache that gravatar use has been updated you won't see any changes.
There may even be at least one other cache in action as some ISPs operate a cache to reduce their bandwidth usage and if your isp is one that does that can further delay the avatar updating.
