Playstation 3 connection to the internet

Ive tried to setup a connection between the playstation 3 and the internet, but when the playstation tries to connect to the IP addrees it keeps coming up failed, sometimes it comes up tried to obtain Ip address but its timed out. Does anyone no the reason for this any suggestions would be gratefull thanks.

It would help if you mentioned if you were trying to setup a wireless or a wired connection..

If wireless sounds like you may have the wireless key wrong.

I get this problem too since we moved house we haven't been able to set it up. So I'd be interested if anyone can help out with this?
