Breville TR39 sandwich toaster

Have just acquired a Breville TR39 "cafe style sandwich press" but no user instructions. It says on its online description and details on box that the top plate can be fixed above the bread, for example, to make cheese on toast. Can anyone help please as to how this is done? This model is also known as VST019 or 020. Alternatively is there an online source for the instructions/user manual? Thanks.

Breville's Australian site (where the company is based) doesn't list the TR39. However I've taken a look at a picture of the TR39 and compared it to what is on the Ozzie website. The BSG520 'Ikon Toast & Melt' product seems to be very similar. (It might even be the same product under a different name)
